Busy Season and Dirty Work
Is in full swing in the Web Department at the Angus Journal. Until we are granted a database and some PHP by the powers that be, busy season means massive amounts of grunt work animal pages built by hand. And yes, every page and every link you see in these examples are mine. I build mindless things like this every day. Really frustrating, considering it takes unnecessary, excessive hours to do and that it would take a matter of seconds to update all those animal pages if we were given even the basest of technologies requested.
This is why I am so motivated to obtain the basics: autonomy over a server we specify, the server-side scripting we want, and no meddlesome committee to vote on whether we should be given the tools we need to do the job right. Why do they insist on putting the cart before the horse?! Ah, but I sing to the choir. So if I do not post again for a while, hopefully this puts into perspective why. ![]()
